I (Toby Dunne) have been cooking since the mid 90's, after leaving high school in 1997 I fast tracked a 4 year cheffing degree and qualified early in 1999.
The next few years I worked at a couple of high end restaurants in The Netherlands before going traveling to gain a more worldly experience.
After cooking in Belgium, France, Spain, Australia and the Canary Islands I ended up in the United Kingdom where in 2006 I started my first food truck and catering company, in 2010 I managed to get a liquor license and added a full service mobile bar to the company.
My menu's varied and I cooked food with influences from all over the world.
I cooked at StreetFood markets, provided Film Crew Catering, food for weddings and delivered high end full service pop-ups.
In 2014 we downsized to one unit and started Muy Loco Tacos concentrating on StreetFood only.
The brand was a huge success, serving the craziest tacos in the industry was a lot of fun.
In early 2016 we traveled all over Asia eating and learning to cook the most amazing food for a few months before coming home and settling in Benzie County.
I started of cooking for a couple of local restaurants.
In 2019 we re-launched Muy Loco Tacos in Frankfort and started serving our community some nacho average tacos again, from squid steak to emu, from German schnitzels to buttermilk fried chicken.
After 2 seasons we had to sell due to some health issues that I had and for a couple of years we diversified into providing affordable local housing, summer rentals and I became management at the Benzie Transportation Authority.
However once my issues were resolved the kitchen itch became too great to ignore and I desperately wanted to get back to what I love the most.
When the third out of my four chef friends passed I decided to buy his old food truck.
After buying it I transformed the truck into: De Food Truck.
I now serve 101% Gluten Free food year round.
Summers in the truck in Northern Michigan and during the winters I will be serving up a variety of world foods at Private Dining functions and pop up events.
